Born and raised on the small caribbean island of Grenada (also known as the Spice Island) I grew up hearing and loving the musical sounds of the steel drum, as Grenada would have in almost every parish or community a large steel band. My journey in music began at the early age of twelve when i began playing in one of the better steeldrum groups in the land.
Within one year of hard training , I was able to develop my skill to the point where i was selected to join the band for carnival at the annual panorama competitions and at regular hotel gigs. My playing ability continued to gro as i was one of the few and youngest player selected for a two week USA tour a few years later.
After a number of years I started teaching small groups from the various churches and schools in Grenada how to play the steeldrum, this was followed by me becoming a junior arranger for the band, working together with my cousin who was at the time also a junior arranger. Together we successfully won three consecutive junior panorama championships.
My career in music took me to cruise ships where i spent many years working in the entertainment department together with other colleagues in the position of Caribbean Band. Finally the time came when i decided to be finished with ships and become a steeldrum soloist now living in Zurich, Switzerland.
